Summary: Min Green and Ed Slaterton are breaking up, so Min is writing Ed a letter and giving him a box. Inside the box is why they broke up. Two bottle caps, a movie ticket, a folded note, a box of matches, a protractor, books, a toy truck, a pair of ugly earrings, a comb from a motel room, and every other item collected over the course of a giddy, intimate, heartbreaking relationship. Item after item is illustrated and accounted for, and then the box, like a girlfriend, will be dumped.
Review: This book takes you through a girl’s journey through a relationship. I thought it was interesting how small, ordinary, everyday items that mean nothing to most mean so much to Min. I liked how you got to know the characters and their flawed relationship as Min explains each and every item. Though you obviously know the relationship is doomed (it is a break-up letter Min is writing), as you read the book, you wish the relationship could have made it! This is a true insight to the trials and tribulations that happen when opposites attract.
