Review: As I read this book, I was filled with question after question. The book starts of cryptically by Mara introducing herself, then she says her name isn’t really Mara Dyer because she needed to change it to stay safe. Then you learn that she was recently in an accident where a building collapsed and her 3 friends died…but she walked away! Plus, she can’t remember the events that happened during the accident. As you read on, inexplicable events happen whenever Mara is frightened or angry. Did she really kill off a lake full of alligators? Or was the water already poisoned? You also begin to question Mara’s sanity. She sees and hears her ex-boyfriend, who died in the accident. She sleepwalks. Nothing about Mara seems “normal”. You read on because you need to know the answers to all of the questions! Though, of course, not everything has an answer…now I’m off to read part 2 The Evolution of Mara Dyer!
Summary: Mara Dyer believes life can’t get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.
